Frequently Asked Questions:
How Do I Sign Up for a Farm Box?
If you would like to sign up for a full season or monthly farm box, visit our Farm Box page to subscribe! If you would like to order on a one-time or weekly basis, you will be able to place an order weekly between July-Sept each Sunday-Monday here for Thursday pick-up. Please note that these boxes must be paid for when placing the order, and may be limited in availability.
How can I sign my office/workplace up for Farm Box deliveries?
If you have five or more employees interested in subscribing to the Farm Box, we will deliver directly to your office/place of work! Just let us know, and we will add your workplace as an option for delivery. Contact us below to get started.
What if I miss the pick-up window, or I can't make it to pick-up?
Farm Box Customers should arrive at their chosen pickup location for the season, during the designated pickup time window. If you missed the pickup window contact our project manager-- some sites may hold boxes for a short time after the window has closed.
If you don’t pick up your share, we will repurpose it as a donation. If you want a friend to pick up your share, that’s fine, and you don’t need to notify us.
If you know you won’t be able to pick up your share, you can always place a hold on your Farm Box for the week. If you aren't sure how to do that, let us know at harvest@sanjuancollege.edu. Let us know at least a week in advance so we can plan accordingly.
Do I have to pay online?
This year we are requesting that all payments be pre-paid ahead of pick-up. If you have a financial barrier to paying online, or if you prefer not to, please let us know and we will work with you individually.
How can I volunteer with the Harvest Food Hub?
We love our volunteers, and our operations would not be possible without you. If you are interested in volunteering, please email harvest@sanjuancollege.edu and we will send you the appropriate volunteer paperwork to become a San Juan College Volunteer. Once the paperwork has been received, we will schedule you for a shift!
Is the produce organic?
While most of our farms are not certified organic (the certification process is costly and time consuming), many of them refrain from using synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. Check out our Meet Your Producers page to learn about each of the farms and their growing practices.
